Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Estimator to join the client’s dynamic team, contributing to their continued success and expansion. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and competitive pricing of the company’s diverse construction projects. This position demands a high level of professionalism and a keen eye for detail, with the successful applicant expected to uphold the company’s standards of excellence in every estimate they produce.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop detailed and precise cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including refurbishments, extensions, fit-outs, and new builds.

* Analyse project requirements, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work.

* Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and cost-efficiency.

* Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to create comprehensive project budgets.

* Continuously monitor and update cost estimates as project details evolve, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.

* Present and justify cost estimates to senior management and clients, providing clear and well-reasoned explanations of the assumptions and methodologies used.

* Maintain an organised database of cost information to support future estimates and benchmarking.

* Contribute to tender submissions, ensuring that all financial and commercial criteria are fully met.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a preference for experience in the leisure, education, retail, healthcare, or housing sectors.

* Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures.

* Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling effective collaboration with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.

* Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to producing precise and reliable cost estimates.

* Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
