About Us: Our mainstream school in Barnet with an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) is dedicated to providing an inclusive education environment where all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), can thrive. We are committed to offering high-quality support and tailored learning experiences to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our ARP team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with special educational needs within a mainstream setting and a strong commitment to supporting their educational and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.

* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support the monitoring of student progress.

* Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all students.

* Support students with personal care needs, where necessary.

* Assist with administrative tasks and the preparation of learning materials.

* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.

Essential Criteria:

* Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a mainstream school or ARP setting.

* A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to working with children with complex needs.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of students.

* Basic understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Desirable Criteria:

* Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 3).

* Knowledge of specific learning difficulties and strategies to support students with SEND.

* Experience with behavior management techniques.
