Middle leader

A secondary school in Redbridge are looking for a SEND Inclusion officer who would work in a middle leadership capacity within an Alternative Resourced Provision.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to progress from a SEND teaching post. It needs to be someone who is passionate about bringing positive change into learning and can support with Individual educational plans and key requirements.

Job Responsibilities

* Follow the SEND code of practice and have a good understanding of teaching and learning for SEND students

* Working with internal and external divisions to ensure best practices and referrals are being made and followed up as required for students

* Follow planning with year group/subject leaders and monitor the class and behaviour

* Hold meetings with students and parents to ensure that everybody has a clear understanding of expectations and requirements for learning

* Report to senior leaders and liaise with teachers regarding any safeguarding matters

* Manage and evaluate the outcomes of intervention programmes and support for children with Special Educational Needs.

* To lead in the promotion of a professional, caring, and supportive atmosphere with the school.

Preferred Skills:

* Hold a teaching qualification and have SEND experience

* SENDCo qualification is desirable but not essential

* Have experience of working with children in a Secondary school setting

* Have good behaviour management

* Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
