The Role of Health & Safety Advisor

* Establishing and implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain high standards.

* Ensure that Health and Safety strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs to enable the company to function effectively.

* Establishing long-term Health and Safety initiatives, driving a culture of continuous improvement.

* Monitor industry trends and H&S legislation changes, advising management on the necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

* Prepare and submit auditory reports when required.

* Conduct regular risk assessments and spot check audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

* Provide expert advice on H&S related issues, acting as the primary point of contact relating to Health and Safety matters.

* Analyse data and utilise KPIs to identify improvements in all areas relating to H&S.

* Recommend preventative actions and implement corrective actions while monitoring the effectiveness of improvements.

* Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

* Maintain and update HSE records and documentation, including logs, risk assessments, and safety procedures.

* Develop and monitor HSE training programs for all employees at all levels, ensuring they understand and comply with safety awareness and procedures.

* Promote awareness and understanding of HSE practices through the health and safety committee, ongoing education, and communications.

* Mentor and support all staff in implementing HSE initiatives and best practices.

* Assist in the development and implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.

* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs, recommending improvements when necessary.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning through to execution.

* Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.

* Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training requirements such as first aid and fire marshal training.

* IOSH Certificate / Diploma

* A demonstrable and proven track record in the use of Quality tools; such as 8D, FEMEA, Ishikawa, Root cause, Kaizen/Six Sigma & 5Y associated Quality tools

* A knowledgeable understanding of ISO 9001 & adherence to additional standards, ISO 14001, ISO 45001

* Excellent communication with proven ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations
