We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Community Development Worker to join our vibrant team in Buckinghamshire

As a Community Development Worker, you will be working from home with regular travel across Buckinghamshire. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting advocacy drop-ins, facilitating advocacy groups, and providing training to empower individuals to advocate for themselves. You will also be responsible for fostering a team of volunteers to support these initiatives. Promotion of POhWER’s mission to assist vulnerable adults with multiple needs is a key part of this role, along with developing strong relationships and community engagement.

Hours of Work: Part time: 22 hours per week, 2 days a week working between Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (days of work to be discussed at interview).

Location: Home based with travel across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. (Applicants must live within the area; have a full driver’s licence and access to their own transport)

Contract type: Permanent

Community Development Worker Requirements:

Proven track record in building and nurturing relationships.
Experience in community engagement and advocacy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.
Full driver’s licence and access to own transport (essential due to travel requirements).
