Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced HR Consultant to work with Nottingham City Council on a temporary assignment. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri) on a hybrid basis.
Main Duties:
* Identify, recommend, implement and evaluate a range of sustainable solutions to resolve organisational issues in respect of recruitment and talent acquisition.
* Undertake research into current approaches and best practice, piloting the use of new approaches and tools and rolling out the use of these across the organisation.
* Proactively work to attract, source and recruit Children’s Social Workers and associated roles, using a range of different and innovative approaches and tools to attract and recruit appropriate candidates to social worker roles.
* Provide comprehensive and timely advice and guidance on recruitment and talent management approaches, providing support to managers with larger scale campaigns and/or campaigns for hard to fill roles
* Support the design of executive-level resourcing activities, attracting the widest and most appropriate potential pool of applicants.
* Build relationships with external stakeholders to build talent pipelines, e.g. colleges and universities, actively seeking representation from under-represented groups or individuals.
* Seek opportunities to promote the Council as an employer of choice, utilising social media channels and other opportunities to do so.
* Collaborate with Departmental HR Consultants and Advisors to integrate an approach to resourcing, including workforce planning, succession planning and talent management.
* Review the implementation of the corporate processes at a local level, e.g. induction, exit management, tailoring these to meet both the needs of the service and the employee.
* Maintain and provide information and data analysis to support effective decision-making and drive continuous improvement in respect of recruitment and retention.
* Provide feedback and reports to key stakeholders, making recommendations as appropriate.
Essential Criteria:
* Knowledge of legislation and modern approaches relevant to recruitment and talent acquisition, and experience in providing technical support and advice to managers on recruitment.
* Previous experience of recruiting for talent across different functions/sectors including handling high priority and challenging resourcing requirements.
* Experience of creating or designing vacancy adverts and campaigns, including on virtual/social media platforms.
* Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
* Ability to support the development of HR policy and practice.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience of working in a Local Authority/Public Sector role.
