A Day in the Life in a community mental health team:
A mental health practitioner in a Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team is a professional who specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues in children and adolescents. These practitioners come from various professional backgrounds, such as psychology, psychiatry, social work, nursing, or occupational therapy. Their primary role involves working directly with young people and their families to provide therapeutic interventions, support, and guidance to address mental health challenges.
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
Current and valid registration with the NMC.
Proven experience within a CAMHS Service.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Members of staff should be a driver and have CAMHS experience.
