Role: Social value Officer

Location: St Albans, Welwyn, Occasionally Waltham Forest

Our client; a leading Social Housing contractor is committed to creating a positive impact in the communities where they operate. We aim to integrate social value into our core business practices, ensuring that our operations contribute to social, economic, and environmental well-being. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Value Officer to join our team primarily based in St Albans and Welwyn and help us achieve these goals.

The Social Value Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring social value initiatives within the company. This role involves working closely with various departments, external stakeholders, and community organizations to ensure that our activities generate meaningful social benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social value principles, excellent project management skills, and a passion for making a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

Assist in the development and implementation of the company's social value strategy.
Identify opportunities to integrate social value into business processes and projects.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align social value initiatives with company objectives.

Project Management:

Plan and execute social value projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of social value initiatives, using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
Report on the progress of social value projects to senior management and stakeholders.

Community Engagement:

Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Organize and participate in community outreach events, workshops, and programs.
Gather feedback from community members and stakeholders to inform future initiatives.

Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare regular reports on social value activities, including outcomes and impact assessments.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards related to social value.
Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to social value.

Awareness and Training:

Raise awareness about social value within the company through internal communications, training sessions, and workshops.
Develop educational materials and resources to support social value initiatives.

Partnerships and Collaboration:

Identify and pursue partnerships with other organizations, businesses, and institutions to enhance social value outcomes.
Work with procurement and supply chain teams to encourage socially responsible practices among suppliers.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

Proven Social Value experience with in Social Housing regen is essential, with a focus on social value, community engagement, or corporate social responsibility.
Proven experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Must have a driving licence as this role requires travel

Skills:

Strong understanding of social value principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and measure social impact.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Creative and innovative, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
