Working closely with parents and reporting back on pupils' progress
Preparing the classroom, ready for the school day
Working with children on a 1:1 basis as well as in small groups
Providing personal care
Observing children's behaviourI am looking for resilient and caring Teaching Assistants who are looking for a new adventure and interested in the idea of working with children with special needs. As an SEN TA you will working with various complex needs, within a SEN School. I have listed below which special needs you may come across.

What does Autism mean?

Autism which is often abbreviated to ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) could mean that individuals may have trouble with the following: Anxiety, communication, social interaction, repetitive and restrictive behaviour, varied sensitivity to certain senses such as; light, sound, taste and touch. Children with Autism may rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through PECS and Makaton.

What does PMLD mean?

Children with PMLD will have more than one disability, this could mean they may have trouble with the following: communication, hearing and visual impairments, physical disabilities, and mental health difficulties. Many individuals with profound multiple learning difficulties rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through such as PECS and Makaton.

What does SpLD mean?

Children with specific learning difficulties will have trouble with writing, spelling, reading this can be linked with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia.

What is the client school like?

As a company we are working closely within an SEN School that specialised in working with children that have complex needs, and are looking for Health care assistant/SEN TA's to join their team. This school is rated good by Ofsted and there are approximately 150 students within the school. In addition to this, the school is ran by an Outstanding Headteacher with a highly supportive Senior Leadership Team.
