- Proficient in manual handling practices.
- Knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Phonics methodologies.
- Additional certifications in SEN support or related areas.
- Experience with assistive technology in educational settings.
The SEN Teaching Assistant role is primarily situated within an educational context, such as a school or specialized learning facility. This position involves regular engagement with students with special educational needs, educators, and other professionals. The assistant may be required to assist with personal care and apply appropriate manual handling techniques. The role is full-time and temporary in nature, adhering to the policies and procedures of the employing institution.
