School Site Supervisor/Maintenance Operative Opportunity
Position: School Site Supervisor/Maintenance Operative
Location: Primary School, North Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield
Start Date: September 2024
Working Hours: 8am - 4pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm
Hourly Rate: £13 - £17 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanency
About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated School Site Supervisor/Maintenance Operative to join our team at a Primary School in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. This is a temporary position starting in September 2024, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the school premises are well-maintained and safe.
* Carry out general maintenance duties including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and painting.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and issues.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage and supervise site-related tasks and any additional staff as required.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
Requirements:
* Strong maintenance skills and experience in a similar role.
* Availability from September or nearing the end of a current contract.
* Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
* Candidates without school experience will be considered if they have a background in maintenance or possess a trade.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* An up to date enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and reliable approach to work.
