Darlington Educational Psychology Service are seeking a skilled, professional HCPC registered Educational Psychologist (EP) to undertake statutory psychological assessments of children and young people as part of Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments. The EP will need to have an enhanced DBS check and evidence of safeguarding training within the past 2 years. We are likely to require 4-5 assessments completing per month, but this can be negotiated. Work can be undertaken either in person or remotely and will be quality assured by either the Principal or Senior EP. Please see our attached job description and person specification for further information. This role is outside of IR35 regulations.

Requirements:

* Undertaking assessments of children and young people in Darlington Early Years, Primary and Secondary settings, in order to provide statutory psychological advice to the Local Authority as part of Education Health and Care needs assessments.

* Approximately 4 pieces of statutory psychological advice per month, allowing 2 days per assessment. Work will be paid outside of IR35 regulations.

Job Description

Statutory assessment work will include:

* Carrying out assessments using methods and approaches in line with professional practice guidelines established by the British Psychological Society, HCPC and the Association of Educational Psychologists

* Assessment of individual needs using a range of psychological approaches suitable to the case and always including consultation with relevant education professionals, parent(s) / carer(s) and the child or young person

* Production of statutory reports within agreed timescales that advise on appropriate outcomes and provision for the child or young person in a format agreed with the Principal or Senior Educational Psychologist

* Use of a statutory report template provided by the Principal or Senior Educational Psychologist

* Submission of statutory reports within one week of the agreed deadline in order that quality assurance processes can take place, undertaken by the Principal or Senior Educational Psychologist, and any adaptations to the report be made by the locum EP

* Locum Educational Psychologists will need to provide their own assessment tools and resources for the purposes of the work

Darlington Educational Psychology Service welcomes face to face working but will also accept remote psychological assessments.

Person specification

* Locum Educational Psychologists must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist and be in receipt of regular, professional supervision.

* Locum Educational Psychologists must have enhanced DBS and a minimum of Level 1 Children’s Safeguarding training within the last 2 years. Certificates should be provided
