My client, based in reading is recruiting for a Data Governance Analyst to support a long term transformation.

Length of Contract: 6- 12 months

Day rate: £(Apply online only) per day depending on experience

Location: Reading - 2 days per week on site

The Data Governance Analyst will:

Contribute to the organisation's data governance strategy and implementation.
Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives by ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
Assist in data cataloguing and metadata management using tools like Azure Purview.
Collaborate with stakeholders to promote data governance best practices.The Data Governance Analyst's key responsibilities are:

Support the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on data governance initiatives.
Assist in enforcing data governance policies and ensuring compliance.
Support MDM initiatives by ensuring data quality and consistency.
Contribute to training and education on data governance and master data quality.
Assist in monitoring data governance compliance and assessing control effectiveness.
Support metadata management by documenting data lineage, definitions, and dependencies.
Contribute to data governance council meetings.
Assist in implementing the data governance framework.Essential Experience and Skills:

Experience in data management and governance.
Understanding of data governance concepts and frameworks.
Familiarity with data quality and protection principles.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Desirable Experience and Skills:

SQL scripting and database management systems (e.g., SAP, SQL Server).
Data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Python, Power BI).
Data quality tools (e.g., MDM Profisee, Purview).
Understanding of big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory).
