A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineering Supervisor has become available, to join our client based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Reporting to the General Manager, this autonomous position will be a challenging multi-facetted role requiring a person who can adapt and be flexible in managing their duties.

Main Purpose: To oversee the day-to-day Engineering operation and performance on site and manage the team accordingly. Provide a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational infrastructure and support long-term strategic plans. Create a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere. Regularly monitor performance of the team and discover training needs and provide coaching.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
Ensure all activities follow Food packaging BRC accreditation.
Demonstrate positive behaviours by actively supporting Lean and Continuous Improvement activity on site.
Develop the engineering team to improve their knowledge and skill, recommending any additional training and coaching where required.
Manage the team performance issues and implement suitable training and development.
Support and develop the Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out effectively.
Support the site in implementing Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) programme.
Assist with any breakdowns/projects as required.
Prioritise the team workload for the benefit of the site performance.
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on engineering activities.
Support implementation and installation of any new machinery or projects.
Ensure all job sheets and work records are correct and up to date.
Ensure that designated buildings, plant, and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required.
Work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities as well as process and procedures.
Actively contribute to meetings with production and planning, communicating actions and instructions to team.
Perform root cause analysis to resolve problems.
Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
Manage contractors on site and ensure they meet legal and company requirements.

Requirments for the role:
Ideally qualified to HND level or equivalent
Experience of high-speed manufacturing environment
Strong leadership skills
Ability to accurately fault find establishing root cause.
Multi-skilled – either electrical or mechanical bias but must have proven knowledge in both skills.

The role is working day shift 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
