Role Purpose: As an Resident Maintenance Engineer, you'll ensure the smooth operation of the hub's Material Handling Equipment (MHE). This includes maintaining powered conveyor systems, telescopic conveyors, scanning and proximity technology, chutes, and roller decks. You'll work to achieve or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLA) efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical elements of MHE.

* Perform Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) according to schedules.

* Assist in developing departmental procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to report maintenance activities.

* Conduct Electrical inspections to 17th Edition standards.

* Liaise with operational colleagues and Property Maintenance for planned and reactive maintenance.

* Work closely with Sort Control for optimal system use.

Skills and Experience:

* Hands-on problem-solving capability.

* Strong analytical skills and fault-finding abilities.

* Proactive team player with effective communication skills.

* Ability to absorb and apply complex systems knowledge.

* Knowledge of material handling equipment and project management.

* Familiarity with engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

* Experience with PPM schedules and safe work practices at heights.

* Proficient in using common power tools and interpreting technical manuals.

* Basic IT skills and familiarity with H&S procedures and CMMS.

Qualifications:

* 17th Edition certification.

* A-Level/BTEC or mechanical/electrical apprenticeship with relevant experience.

* Full driving license.

Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years in a maintenance role within an automated or regulated environment.

Shift Pattern:

* 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off. 24/7 operational support required
