  • Deliver best-in-class financial control team through effective team design, engagement, development, performance management and recruitment.
  • Embed a robust internal controls and review framework to ensure accuracy of reported financial information
  • Lead preparation of Group management results and consolidated statutory results
  • Lead an efficient and accurate monthly close process across all regions, achieving the highest quality of balance sheet review and reconciliations
  • Manage balance sheet risks, opportunities and provisions, flagging impact on P&L and inputting to forecast/budget processes as appropriate
  • Maximise working capital, applying commercial judgement to manage suppliers and customers with a focus on cash
  • Provide financial assistance to subsidiaries, including management reporting guidance and cashflow statement support.
  • Own consolidated financial statements
  • Understanding, interpreting and explaining the financial results and records of the operating businesses

Our client is a PE-backed SME business with a blue-chip client base and a strong outlook for 2024.

They need an Interim Group FC to provide support for the CFO and instill more rigour into the finance function around reporting, cashflow, working capital, AP, and AR.

Skills/experience required:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Significant experience in controlling, accounting / consolidating / reporting
  • Significant experience in financial and management accounting, current accounting practices and methods
  • Experience of working with PE-backed businesses or similar environment where cash and working capital management is critical
  • Proven track record of improving processes, instilling strong control environments and improving finance teams
  • Ability to operate at pace and balance competing priorities

The role is based in London and you must be able to get to the office 2-3 days/week. The initial contract is intended to be 3 months.
