The public sector practice is excited to announce a new exclusive partnership working across one of London's most vibrant and diverse boroughs.With community and children's social care at the heart of their corporate values, Haringey Council are currently undergoing a number of exciting projects as part of their strategic procurement plan (2020-2025) and wider corporate vision.

This includes the focus on community wealth building, promotion of social value, increasing the procurements reputation as well as contract performance management. Subsequently, this involves expanding headcount for their category management and supply chain teams.

We're currently on the look out for a Procurement Manager who will focus on driving Policy and Sustainability, working closely with the Chief Procurement Officer on the successful delivery of the five year plan, and leading on wider organisational policies and best practices.

About the role

Key focus of this role will include the development and maintenance of procurement policies and practices to attain standards of excellence across the organisation in line with Public Contract Regulations (2015), as well as getting to grips with the new Procurement Act legislation coming into force as of October 2024.

In addition, you'll take part in leading at theoperational level, on the implementation of effective procurement processes and systems to ensure highest levels of compliance and best value are achieved.

You'll manage the corporate e-procurement solution, and take an active part in developing data strategies and management information that can inform procurement and category management strategies.

The role will require you to work flexibly across procurement adhering to the needs of the organisation. This will naturally lead you to ensure that you are maintaining and building on relationships with internal stakeholders as well as your suppliers.

In this role, you will also have responsibility for overseeing staff, which may include up to 5 direct reports (including temporary project contractors).

Experience and skills required

You'll need to be able to evidence at least 3 years' experience of working across public sector procurement tenders and demonstrate a good understanding of driving governance and policies and guidelines (i.e. in line with PCR, UCR, etc.).

In addition, you will hold comprehensive understanding of e-sourcing technology platforms, experience of delivering change programmes in line with social value, sustainability and policies. Your experience of designing and developing corporate standards and educational material to support procurement functions and policies, will also be assessed during the interview.

CIPS qualification is desired but will not be a deal-breaker.
