Clinician OT/Physiotherapist - Wheelchair Services

Salary: Band 6/7 Equivalent

Opcare, part of the Ability Matters Group, operates a number of wheelchair services nationally, including this service in Harrow and Hillingdon, as well as being a supplier of prosthetic and orthotic services to the NHS and private sector in the UK and Ireland.

The successful applicant will be capable of practising independently, and have a focus on continual improvement.

Job Summary: the post holder will be responsible for the assessment, prescription and supply of specialist equipment, and will work individually and as a member of a highly skilled team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and support staff within the posture and mobility centre providing wheelchair and special seating services.

The post holder will be involved in the assessment and provision of a range of specialist equipment, including buggies and wheelchairs, active user wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, pressure care cushions, postural support equipment, specialist seating, and associated accessories. They will actively engage in training with a drive to develop themselves, as well as having responsibility for supervision of junior staff and students, education and training, and delegated service development activities. They will assist and support the clinical lead, service manager, regional and national clinical leads, in the effective running of the department.

Qualifications: recognised clinical degree or diploma; minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a relevant field; HCPC registration
