Merton Integrated Complex Needs Team - Community Services

Band 5 Paediatric Physiotherapist

Merton Community Children's Physiotherapy Service ( MSK/ Community)37.5 hours per week

Have you completed your Band 5 core rotations including Paediatrics? Are you interested in specializing in Paediatrics? We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Physiotherapist, with a high level of Band 5 skills, to join our new Community Health Service in Merton Borough.

Main duties of the job

Your role will comprise of two specialties, working with children from birth to 19 years. Firstly, working with children with a range of neurological, neurodevelopmental, and coordination disorders and secondly based within our musculoskeletal service. The service is delivered in a variety of settings, including community clinics, in patient homes and schools.

You will work closely with established multi-professional teams within Merton Community services and with outside services to deliver physiotherapy advice and treatment meeting the needs of children and young people. You will have hadexperience of working with children in the community setting or similar and your communication and team working skills will be excellent.

The successful candidate will manage a small caseload of children to provide assessment, treatment planning and delivery and reviews.

We are committed to professional development and evidence-based practice, offering regular in-service training and peer group / one to one supervision. Internal and external courses are supported. You will be required to have at least 1 years' experience working as a practitioner with appropriate transferable skills working with children, engagement in post graduate training and education in areas related to working with neuro developmental conditions is desirable. You should have experience of engaging in appraisal processes and be willing to further develop clinical skills.

Job responsibilities

To be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of the post-holders own work and to be responsible for informing their senior of any areas in which they lack experience or knowledge.

To assess, treat and manage a caseload of patients appropriate to the clinical area in a range of settings.

To provide written advice for inclusion in the statutory process for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) in line with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice.

To provide identified provision detailed in the patients EHCPs and review as per SEND guidelines with advice for review meetings

To complete clear concise medical records
