Rotational Rehabilitation Physiotherapist
Employer Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Location London Salary £40,448 to £47,965 a year p.a. inc. This is an an exciting opportunity for Physiotherapists with proven clinical and interpersonal skills to join our growing Band 6 rotational scheme at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for clinicians interested in developing their rehabilitation skills as we have vacancies in the rehabilitation rotational circuits.You will gain experience of treating a wide variety of clinical conditions both in the Acute (Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals) and Community settings in Lambeth and Southwark. You will have the opportunity to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills including appraisal and supervision of junior staff and students, participation in projects contributing to service development and delivery of training programmes and teaching both within the trust and our partner organisations.
Each rotation is of 6 months duration and each post is supported by a number of experienced senior staff and clinical specialists. Staff need to be prepared to participate in any of the rotations within the rehabilitation rotational scheme. You will be expected to embrace the departments equity, inclusion and diversity working ethos.
These posts would suit a Band 5 physiotherapist wishing to gain specific experience at a more senior level or an established Band 6 wishing to consolidate and develop their knowledge and skills.
Rehabilitation Rotations
Oncology, older persons unit, vascular, neuro stroke, neuro rehabilitation, critical care rehabilitation, renal, orthopaedics, paediatrics, vestibular and facial rehabilitation, neuro community, intermediate care, older persons assessment unit, MSK, admissions avoidance in A& E, supported discharge, exercise on dialysis, community, rapid response in the community.
Applicants would manage their own case load, be responsible for their clinical governance and development while being supported by the wider rehabilitation team.

To co-ordinate intervention which may include other disciplines advises and educates patient/carers/relatives/other health professionals
To be responsible for maintenance of accurate written records using POMR system and use of computerised data collection and records and comprehensive progress and discharge reports to medical referrers as required by rotation
To manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times
To demonstrate physical ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and interventions including manual handling techniques and therapeutic handling

~ To be able to manage potentially stressful, upsetting or emotional situations in an empathetic manner, including but not limited to those in oncology, ICU, vascular and neurology.


Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Evidence of Continued Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the clinical field
Understanding of Clinical Governance and the implications for physiotherapy services including experience of quality issues and audit

Broad range of experience, as an autonomous practitioner, at Band 5 level in acute care, acute and chronic rehabilitation and musculoskeletal work
Participation in on-call and weekend rota work.
Experience of working as member of a physiotherapy team and of a multidisciplinary team.

Previous experience at Band 6 level.
Supervision of Band 5, PTA and Student
