You will need to take a consultative and collaborative approach to solving complex legal and business issues in a fast-moving environment.
This is a great opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across multiple jurisdictions, learn new areas of law and play a key role in supporting the company’s rapid growth. You will be based in London at our global head office and report to a Senior Legal Counsel also based in London.
You will be joining an expanding legal team in one of Europe's most valuable fintechs.
Partner with our commercial, product, treasury, and compliance teams, acting as a real-time legal advisor to understand their needs and help find creative solutions to achieve business objectives
Review payments product structures, flows and terms to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Advise on payments regulatory matters including compliance with payments laws and related regulations across our different jurisdictions
Advise on broader regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions, including with respect to group regulatory change projects
Advise key business functions on new regulatory developments impacting our operations, products, and contractual commitments
Qualified solicitor/lawyer (2-5PQE) with strong post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice
Strong understanding of legal principles applicable to payments, including the payments ecosystem and payments regulatory and licensing strategy/execution, and to broader financial institutions
Previous FinTech, start-up, payments, and/or financial institution experience is desirable but not essential
Ability to handle and deliver on numerous high-priority projects concurrently
A practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving legal challenges
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely
