Due to rapid growth and expansion for our client, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Technical Engineering department, for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Technical Director and will have the following key responsibilities:

* Working in accordance with internal technical engineering design procedures.

* Ensuring that technical engineering work is completed to all relevant internal and external procedures & processes.

* Identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation in the mechanical engineering processes and practices.

* Reviewing mechanical engineering work of engineers and subcontractors.

* Work in accordance with Company working practices, to conduct activities in accordance with the HSEQS requirements and to meet all legal obligations.

The Mechanical Engineer is expected to improve the work processes and be a technical governance for the discipline. The scope will include studies and tenders as well as live projects.

Undertake conceptual and detailed design of mechanical systems and components for offshore projects including trenching asset and vessel equipment.

* Perform calculations, simulations, and testing to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of the mechanical design.

* Review the mechanical engineering work of other engineers and subcontractors.

* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the installation, commissioning, and operation of the mechanical systems and components.

* Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in the mechanical engineering processes and practices.

Have a strong mechanical engineering background.

* Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks and Inventor.

* Proficiency in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD.

* Perform mechanical analysis, such as stress, fatigue, vibration, and thermal.

* Innovative solutions and creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.
