What Are We Looking For

Our in-house design team are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our business based in Darlington owing to continued project awards and success with our clients. You will take on a leading role in aspects of projects from scoping and detailed design right through to implementation, ensuring compliance with Client Specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus low on carbon solutions.

Some of your key duties include:

  • Oversee design aspects of projects from inception to implantation.
  • Ensure compliance with Client specification and current regulatory standards.
  • Develop design deliverables.
  • Complete checking and approval processes.
  • Arrange procurement of goods and services.
  • Prepare work scope estimates/quotations.
  • Assemble contract works information documents.
  • Consider project health and safety, quality and environmental matters.
  • Liaise with all key stakeholders for the projects.
  • Implement project change control and programme requirements.
  • Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects.

What do you need?

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of British and European design standards
  • Minimum of 5 years proven track record as a Mechanical Engineer in both a design office and in a construction environment within the Water (or related Process) Industry
