Location: Ipswich with home working once a week

Salary: Confirmed on application

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm

About the Role of PMO Lead

Reporting directly to the Head of Change, this role will play a pivotal role in enhancing and refining the project management framework, as well as the PMO operations and structure. Collaborating closely with the Business Analysis Lead, you will facilitate a comprehensive approach to change analysis, management, and control. Your contributions will feed into reporting and monitoring mechanisms, ensuring a holistic view of all project activities across the company.

Responsibilities and experience required for the role of PMO Lead

  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of business change projects to meet our and their client's needs.
  • Capture, define, and manage project requirements efficiently.
  • Uphold project management standards and processes.
  • Develop business cases for proposed changes.
  • Conduct impact assessments for new projects to inform demand planning and cost vs. benefits.
  • Define detailed requirements and obtain sign-off in collaboration with Business Analysts.
  • Lead project delivery from discovery to warranty phase.
  • Agree on delivery dates with change requestors and ensure requirements are met accordingly.
  • Monitor delivery costs and report all expended efforts accurately.
  • Coordinate with internal and external suppliers for successful change delivery.
  • Understand and manage the pipeline of work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Communicate change progress effectively to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Manage the PMO and project management teams.
  • Serve as a focal point for PMO processes and procedures.
  • Establish and evolve PMO standards and methods as needed.
  • Ensure Project Managers adhere to the group PM framework
  • Collaborate with the Head of Change to refine processes and adapt to best practices in project management and change management.

Experience required for the position of PMO Lead

  • Significant Proven project management track record across Change.
  • Recent team management and coaching experience.
  • PMO proficiency, including frameworks and governance knowledge.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management.
  • Ability to build productive relationships.
  • Flexible approach to meet deadlines and adapt to changing scope.
  • Customer-focused communication skills.
  • Experience with technical delivery resources.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., Prince 2).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Report writing and planning expertise.
  • Collaborative teamwork.
  • Maintains composure under pressure.
  • Experience with a financial services business will be a massive advantage but not essential
