Job Description

Join our team at Sharp Europe and take on the role of a Software Developer specialising in JAVA . Located at Stockley Park, Uxbridge , you'll have the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Contribute to the ongoing development of Sharp ESBC's software solutions by providing backend development support to the existing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Work collaboratively within an Agile development team and alongside product owners to implement new features and functionalities for Sharp ESBC software solutions.

Develop backend code using Java .

Support and contribute to software architecture design.

Create Proof of Concept (PoC) code for feature advancement or tender requests.

Update user documentation for new features.

Update localisation resources for newly implemented features.

Assist in evaluation and quality assurance activities to maintain software quality.

Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies.

Participate in and assist with development planning activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential :

Background in software development with strong Java skills.

Demonstrable experience in backend programming with Java , PostgreSQL , and Rest APIs.

Hands-on experience in Azure SQL , Cosmos Database is required.

Experience in Azure Service bus.

Good experience with software design patterns such as MVC , Singleton , Factory , Publish / Subscribe .

Excellent collaboration, analytical, and communication skills, with clear communication in the English language, both spoken and written.

Desirable :

Experience working in an Agile development team.

Experience with JavaScript libraries such as Angular .

Experience with SOAP and WDSL .

Experience in programming in C #.

Experience in web languages such as HTML , CSS , Java .
