Data Center Engineering Operations Trainee

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for trainee technicians to join our Data Center team as part of our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP). These trainees will participate in our 12-week work and training program in an AWS Data Center, working with the Engineering Operations Team.
Trainees will work to ensure that the data center's mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety equipment and plumbing operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility
• Provide assistance to contractor or data center engineers to ensure proper operation, maintenance of all facility equipment and building racks
• Perform site walkthrough to verify proper operation of Facility Equipment and Monitoring System
• Ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centers
• Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
Daily travel between sites may be required

18 years or older
• Experience with Microsoft Office
Has taken or is interested in STEM or vocational course curriculum related to electrical or mechanical field
• Knowledge of generic mechanical-room infrastructure such as chillers, Cooler Units, and fan controls
• Knowledge of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers and power distribution panels.
