Credit Risk Management EMEA consists of around 20 London-based analysts which work in one of four areas: Financial Institutions, Sovereigns and related entities, Hedge Funds and Corporates. We work closely with colleagues in the front office, other areas of risk and in other regions. Each analyst is responsible for monitoring and managing exposure to a portfolio of counterparties.
This role would sit in the EMEA Corporate Credit Team which is responsible for approving derivatives trades & loan exposures across a number of business units.
The role would be primarily focused on supporting Nomura’s Real Estate & infrastructure franchise in EMEA. The role would be a junior position within the credit risk team, responsible for due diligence process and assessment of underwriting risk.
Conduct credit due diligence on new transactions including business review, financial analysis, stress cases and financial modelling.
Evaluate transactions structure and pricing, and ultimately syndication risk.
Actively participate in credit committee, challenging the deal teams and presenting credit views.
Briefing to senior management and liaising with clients when required.
The candidate would also be involved in the loan portfolio management and the production and presentation of ad hoc analysis.
In addition, the candidate would have the opportunity to broaden the scope of its responsibilities by exerting credit approval authority in other products areas including derivatives, fund financing and stock lending.
The candidate will have background in structured finance with experience in the market.
Financial/business qualification such as CFA/Master’s degree/MBA is an advantage.
Previous experience in a similar credit risk department, deal team, rating agency or credit fund will be considered.
Need to be able to hold its own views and be at ease in presenting to senior management.
Understand clients’ needs and issues, and respond with high-quality proposals.
Have a good understanding of corporate philosophy, professional ethics, compliance, risk management, and code of conduct, and make decisions and take actions accordingly.
