The Shakespeare Hospice, based in Stratford upon Avon, offers a diverse range of services across South Warwickshire and surrounding areas. Patients and their families/carers can access one or more specialised services: day hospice, hospice at home, adult and children's counselling for pre and post bereavement, transitional care for terminally ill 16-24 year olds, and spiritual, emotional and complementary therapies. The Hospice currently has six charity shops and an active online presence selling a variety of new and donated quality goods. Profits raised from our shops play a vital role in our income generation activities, helping us to generate the £3 million per year it costs to deliver our services.
The Hospice is excited to be opening a brand-new store in Bidford-on-Avon in February 2025 and we are looking for a passionate and motivated Assistant Manager to help run this new shop. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a growing organisation, where your retail expertise will help generate vital funds to support our hospice services.
We are looking for an experienced and responsible part-time Assistant Manager, to work alongside the Shop Manager and provide support and stable leadership to our staff and volunteer team. The successful candidate will have previous retail management experience with a sharp business mind-set and be willing to be an active and leading presence on the shop floor. You will need good interpersonal and staff management skills, which will be important to motivate the team and ensure a positive shopping experience for all our donors and customers. Support in training, recruitment and project management will also be key to success.
