About the opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at our Cambridge branch for a reliable and energetic person with experience co-ordinating inwards goods and providing top customer service. Reporting to the Branch Manager, your role is crucial as you will be the initial contact for many of our customers over the phone and in person, combining responsibilities from both Inwards Goods and Counter Sales roles providing you with variety every day. 

Perhaps you are/have been an electrical apprentice that could benefit from being paid for your knowledge and experience? Or you have already worked in electrical wholesaling and want your efforts to be recognised by your Manager and Team? On all accounts you will be supported to contribute towards a healthy working environment where we create success together and where there is the potential to progress your career. 

Initially, you’ll mostly learn our Inwards Goods process but in time you will progress to understanding the Counter Sales function, learning to manage your time and your tasks effectively.
Along with your strong relationship-building skills key to your success in this role are your initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, your ability to work well under pressure, natural attention to detail and experience in working with numerical data. A clean restricted or full driver’s licence is also required to support your application.

You’ll be willing to get stuck in with all aspects of the branch – including making deliveries to site and supporting customers visiting our branch.

In this role some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving, unpacking and inspecting incoming goods in a timely manner
  • General administration of all stock data and records, and merchandising duties
  • Serving customers over the counter, phone and email re: sales orders and enquiries
  • Picking goods and collection of cash/payment from counter customers
  • Supporting the maintenance of branch standards (stock, cleanliness, shelves, etc)
  • Delivering items to customers on time, providing accurate paperwork with goods
  • Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to at all times. 

The hours of work for your role are 7.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
