A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Engineer to join a thriving manufacturing business. This role is perfect for an experienced engineer looking to take on a hands-on role with a focus on design, technical leadership, and team development.
As the Senior Design Engineer , you will be working with a small team of 3 engineers, ensuring the successful development and modification of designs in line with business growth. You'll be heavily involved in the technical aspects, including hands-on work with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), ensuring projects are completed to high standards and within set deadlines.

Senior Design Engineer & responsibilities:

Supporting a team of 3 engineers, providing guidance and mentorship. Leading the development of new and modification of existing designs using 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks). Performing FEA calculations and stress analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of designs. Supporting production teams with technical advice, including design support for new initiatives such as jig design. Generating production drawings and bills of materials accurately and efficiently. Compiling reports that summarize design decisions and verification results. Collaborating with both internal teams and customers to discuss project requirements and approvals.
This position is well suited to someone who:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical or design role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Hands-on experience with SolidWorks and FEA calculations is essential. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and inspire a small team. A creative problem-solver with a passion for engineering and innovation. A background in assembly, fabrication, or structural industries would be advantageous but is not essential. The desire to grow and progress in a dynamic business.
