Water Design Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an Urban Design Director (Masterplan led) to join our Midlands and West Masterplanning team and to lead our urban design offer in Birmingham, whilst contributing to the strategy and growth of the region. Our multi-disciplinary Birmingham office has teams across Urban Design, Town Planning, Landscape, Transport, Water teams and Engineering. We are conveniently located within the heart of the city centre with easy access to public transport, including being a short walk from New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill Stations.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a design team whilst contributing to the strategy and growth of our national Design offer and making a real difference to the communities around you. You will be an integral part of our innovative inter-disciplinary environment with fantastic progression opportunities. In your local office there is a well-established Town Planning team who provide excellent cross collaboration and business development opportunities. Typical projects include major residential led, mixed-use development masterplans and layouts across the Midlands, including new communities and new settlements. Our clients include landowners, bespoke local developers, Registered Providers, national house builders and more, providing an enviable and loyal client list.Projects are typically those considered by clients to be more complex and challenging, needing the innovative and creative technical expertise and approach that we pride ourselves on.
You will hold an MA or Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Design with a passion for creating new high quality and sustainable communities. You will have experience of working on large scale UK residential and mixed-use development masterplans, including new settlements and urban extensions in an Urban Design or Masterplanning role, ideally from another consultancy. Possessing the ability to manage projects and coordinate the production of Design and Access Statements.
Be proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup and Microsoft Packages.
Producing high quality hand drawings.
Having experience of managing or mentoring junior team members
Holding a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
