Do you have a scientific sales background, looking for the opportunity to kickstart a sales department for a rapidly growing SME, which develops leading edge nanoparticle deposition equipment, working with leading academic institutions such as Oxford University, now seeking an ambitious sales manager to capitalize on recent success and bring on new clients into the business, and grow into a leadership role, with the potential to grow a team around you?

The company is a leading supplier of nanoparticle coating equipment and service for R&D and commercial user in a wide variety of application areas, including cell binding, cell separation, drug delivery, catalysis, metamaterials, nano-photonics, electrochemistry and battery technology. They create the best nanoparticle deposition equipment available on the market, supplying to a diverse range of clients and markets, including prestigious educational institutions, commercial laboratories and through distributors to Electronics and related industries. They work with clients in the UK, as well as internationally in Singapore, United States, Germany and India supplying a range of products up to over £100,000 in value. The company is led by a team of highly skilled scientists and academics, now looking for a Technical Sales Manager with a background in related field to drive the business to the next level.

You will be responsible for covering sales for the company on an international basis, working closely with a client base of researchers, scientists and distributor network to drive interest in the company's products. You will have the backing of a marketing consultant and pipeline, and will work closely with the technical team to deliver compelling pitches and proposals, as well as attending for conferences and exhibitions. There will be requirements for international travel, since a large portion of the clientele are based outside of the UK.

The role:

Extensive technical training
Attending conferences and exhibitions with a member of the R&D / technical team
Developing relationships with scientists, researchers and academics
Work with an established distributor network, attending meetings with end users along with an agent
Build upon leads generated from the marketing consultant
Build long term relationships through a thorough understanding and developing interest in Nanotechnology and the client's requirements
Discuss research and analysis objectives with potential clients - configure instrumentation solutions to best meet their requirements
Ongoing progression to build a successful sales team around youThe person:

Strong Sales / BD background
Degree or similar in Physics, Chemistry or related field
