Are you passionate about leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies to drive business transformation? As an Azure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. You will design, implement, and optimise our Microsoft Azure environment, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless integration across the organisation. This role is crucial in supporting our ambitious transformation to a multi cloud estate, enabling modern infrastructure solutions, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our cloud services. You'll collaborate closely with specialists across platforms, including Microsoft 365 and Google, to deliver a robust and future-ready technology landscape. Over time, we expect you to work hand-in-hand with these teams to ensure the stability, resilience, and scalability of our entire estate. What you will be doing: • Azure Architecture and Delivery: Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable Azure landing zones, networks, and PaaS services to support business-critical applications. • Networking and Security: Manage Azure networking components including Firewalls, Front Door, Application Gateway, and API Management, ensuring resilience, performance, and compliance. • Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code: Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and GitHub, automating deployments and reducing manual effort. • AI-Driven Operations: Leverage AI and automation to optimise infrastructure operations, including monitoring, fault detection, and performance tuning, driving greater efficiency and reliability. • Disaster Recovery and Resilience: Implement disaster recovery strategies across Azure workloads, ensuring robust continuity planning in line with regulatory obligations. • Security and Compliance: Apply and enforce Azure security controls, policies, and compliance standards to meet industry and regulatory requirements. • Collaboration with Project Teams: Partner with delivery and application teams to provision, integrate, and optimise environments for new and existing workloads. • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor Azure environments, resolve complex incidents, and provide 3rd line support to maintain operational excellence. • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear, accurate documentation of designs, procedures, and standards to support knowledge transfer and audit requirements. • Continuous Improvement: Introduce best practices, new tools, and emerging technologies to enhance Azure operations, ensuring the environment evolves with business and industry needs. • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Engage with Microsoft and third-party providers, aligning services with organisational goals and future technology roadmaps. Requirements Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly in networking, security, and PaaS services • Proven track record in regulated environments, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST or FCA requirements • Strong expertise in Terraform, GitHub Actions, and modern Infrastructure-as-Code practices • Experience in applying AI and automation to infrastructure operations, driving efficiency and improving resilience • Solid understanding of Azure Firewall, Front Door, Application Gateway, API Management, and associated services • Skilled in architecting and implementing Disaster Recovery and high availability solutions within Azure • Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on minimising downtime and disruption • Ability to create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and share knowledge with colleagues • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Network Engineer Associate) Benefits You'll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package.
