Senior Site Reliability Engineer/Azure Engineer

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineers with good proficiency in cloud migration, using Azure CAF. This role will report into the Cloud Platform Lead. The role will be an important cog in the technical implementation for delivering further services to the cloud. This will deliver solutions using traditional style infrastructure to Azure cloud native implementation. The engagement aims to migrate two existing applications from an unstructured cloud environment to the Bank's new Azure platform, following the principles of the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). In this role, you will be working closely with product owners and senior management. This is a hands-on delivery role, creating and deploying services running on cloud, and the core cloud platform for the products. Role Requirements You should have strong DevOps background, and experience in adoption to public cloud following agile methodology. You must have SRE experience, follow a good development lifecycle, be able to communicate with both technical and less technical colleagues and be able to document both design and handover documentation with high quality. You will benefit from technical skills in Cloud delivery, AKS, GitHub, Terraform and tooling to assist with cloud migration. You will need to interact with project managers and application leads, so you should be willing to review delivery plans, represent the team and be willing to challenge in a constructive way. Through the project you will work alongside other teams, such as Cyber Security, Testing the Application Team and the Cloud Operations team. You must be familiar with good change control processes. Candidates should be SC cleared or SC Eligible. Minimum Essential Criteria Extensive experience with Azure, particularly in migrating applications to the Azure cloud platform. Proven track record of cloud migration using industry-standard frameworks such as WAF, CAF, and Microsoft AzureRM. Experience migrating applications from legacy architectures to the new CAF framework is highly desirable. Design and deliver cloud-native solutions, including deployments to VM Scale Sets, to achieve efficient scaling and robust operations. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitHub Actions for streamlined automation and delivery. Demonstrate hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, particularly using Terraform. Configure and optimise Azure services such as Front Door, SQL, and Load Balancers to support secure and high-performing cloud environments Assess networking requirements and help design appropriate solutions, including load balancing, firewalls, routing, application gateway and network security Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications Experience of Azure monitoring, performance management and testing Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, work with partners and vendors and ensure successful delivery of cloud projects Hands-on experience working in Agile methodology Desirable Criteria Certification in cloud services will be beneficial Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in cloud computing and DevOps to provide innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement Sr. Technical leadership experience Knowledge of Product and Platform operating model experience
