In the past 12 months we have delivered and launched our new future customer experience (FCX) platform to our B2C Economist customers and underlying business units as part of a multi-year and multi-million pound business transformation. This exciting, state of the art digital platform supports all aspects of acquisition, onboarding, in-life service, renewal/cancellation and winback customer lifecycle phases which we have designed and built to deliver amazing, end-to-end customer experiences.

We are currently searching for an experienced Order Processing Engineer to be part of our Platforms delivery team. The Order Processing Customer Platforms team will take primary responsibility for the administration of our subscription management and billing platform, Zuora which is integrated with Salesforce within our new FCX platform, which is integrated into Salesforce and is the Subcriber enginer for our business. This is an exciting opportunity to support a Digital Transformation Programme to improve our customer experience as well as supporting our internal colleagues on platforms integral to the day-to-day running of The Economist Group.

The role requires an experienced IT professional with technical skills in one or more of: subscription management, ecommerce, CRM and Finance . The ideal candidate will have experience administering the Zuora Billing platform, which will be a key platform in our Digital Transformation Programme to improve the customer experience.

How you will contribute:

  • Troubleshoot customer and colleague issues
  • Troubleshoot technical problems
  • Enhance the application by being involved in analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of interfaces, customisations and reporting
  • Participate in projects to implement and support new modules
  • Be fully aware of forthcoming releases and how the company may capitalise on new functionality
  • Enhance relationships with internal clients by providing a world class support service
The ideal skills for this role are:

  • Zuora Certified Administrator
  • A core understanding of Salesforce administration
  • Experience working on one or more of Zuora or equivalent functional subscription applications
  • Experience working on Zuora Workflows and Z360+
  • A core understanding of financial and from a technical perspective
  • A fundamental understanding of relational databases and a good command of SQL
  • Experience of working with proprietary application development tools and languages
  • Knowledge of the architecture used to support business applications including web, application, batch and database servers
  • Experience of most stages in the application delivery life cycle (requirements gathering, design, build, test, implementation)
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Confident enough to communicate your ideas to others and receive, understand, and incorporate comments from others
  • The capacity and willingness to perform duties with initiative and resourcefulness
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
