London – Hybrid working flexibility with a minimum of 3 days per month in the office

A Senior Subsea CAD Designer is required to work on an initial 12 month contract basis that will be hybrid working based in the London area on an outside IR35 contract basis.

As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will be reporting to the Deputy Drawing Office Manager, the Senior Designer will apply advanced techniques to produce complex drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

• Prepare 3D models and design/fabrication drawings for steel structures and piping (including piping isometrics) using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software for Tender, FEED and EPCI detailed design.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will interface with other disciplines to obtain input for designs and drawings and to develop clash free designs.
• Assist in the identification of technical problems and contribute with possible solutions.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will conduct self-check on drawing/sketches and undertake checking of others work in a project or department environment within own experience and competence level.
• Prepare drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will assist Fabrication as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design problems, clashes, etc.

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

• Technical education related to mechanical or structural engineering.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will have relevant previous design and drafting experience in producing subsea structural fabrication within the Marine and/or Oil and Gas industry, including work at Lead/Senior level.
• Ability to prioritize own workload and manage time accordingly to meet time/budget constraints.
• Produces work of presentable quality.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will be well versed in industry codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Advanced experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will be proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of other non-technical software e.g. MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will have Sound communication skills in English, both verbally and written.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge

• Experience in leading a team of designers, checking work, following budgeted hours and deliverable dates etc.
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will will prepare offshore installation method sketches, deck layouts, installation aids and rigging drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD software.
• Prepare field layout, approach drawings and alignment sheets using Autodesk AutoCAD or Autodesk Civil 3D software.
• Experience in Autodesk Inventor iLogic
• As the Senior Subsea CAD Designer, you will ideally have experience with Autodesk Vault for data (drawings/models) management.
