Project Surveyor

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client who are a leading contractor within the subsea industry. This business operate a fleet of underwater intervention drones and is leading in their deployment, to deliver high quality data driven solutions to clients. Currently, there is an opportunity to join the business due to growth as a Project Surveyor to provide high-quality survey support to internal and external clients and build out the development of the in-house survey function. This role is an onshore position with the possibility of occasional short offshore assignments as required and is a critical role to the business to support with continued and future success. Responsibilities:
- Providing ongoing survey support to projects throughout their life cycle
- Review work scopes for survey and inspection opportunities, preparing method statements, specifications, technical qualifications, drawings and other technical input to support commercial tendering.
- Develop project procedures and quality plans in line with internal processes.
- Ensure all survey-related activities are undertaken in line with internal QHSE procedures.
- Assist in developing SOPs integration documentation processes and quality plans.
- Work as part of the larger project team, understanding project management principals and working within project constraints.
- Communicate efficiently internally and externally, to coordinate survey operations efficiently, convey survey findings and progress updates to project managers, clients and other stakeholders.
- Previous experience working as a Geophysical Offshore Surveyor (essential).
- A relevant bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, marine science, oceanography, or a related field is preferred, although candidates with certifications or specialised training in subsea surveying will be considered.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments and equipment such as multibeam sonars, subsea positioning systems (USBL, LBL), side-scan sonars, ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) sensors, and subsea navigation software is essential.
- Adept at data processing and analysis and ideally have extensive experience with Eiva NaviSuite packages.
- Experience managing survey data using GIS software and a comprehensive knowledge of networking and sensor integration.
- Experience working as a party chief is desirable, as well as experience in AUV operations and mission planning.
- Knowledge of Subsea Systems, such as pipelines, cables, platforms, and other subsea structures, is crucial. Familiarity with various subsea survey methodologies and techniques is necessary to plan and execute successful surveys. A working knowledge of AUV mission planning is also desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to produce clear and accurate reports.
- Project solving skills to adapt to unexpected solutions and find ways to achieve accurate data collection.
