Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be accountable directly to the building officer. The post holder will be expected to perform a wide range of duties covering all aspects of painting and decorating applicable to the trade.
In conjunction with the building officer, you will liaise with clinical teams when carrying out work in patient areas to ensure patient safety and Infection Control is not compromised so good communication and organizational skills are paramount to being a success in this role. You will have served a relevant and recognized craft apprenticeship in painting and decoration, Qualification to Level 3 (such as City and Guilds or equivalent) or National Vocational Qualification Level 2 with substantial post qualification experience and successful completion of appropriate training courses or equivalent qualifications/experience.

Understanding of specialist painting and decorating techniques
Qualification(s) and Professional Training Essential
~ Knowledge of a full range of relevant trade procedures acquired through a 4-year accredited training course in painting and decorating (Level 3) plus relevant or equivalent experience

Proven ability to work alone or in a team, be supportive of team members.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and explain issues to immediate colleagues, other staff, and patients
Ability to comment on work related procedures/policies
Ability to plan own ongoing work-related activities
Good awareness and understanding of Health and Safety and Risk Assessments.

Experience in a wide range of painting and decorating techniques
Understanding of specialist painting and decorating techniques
