Health Care Support Worker
Salary up to £24,000 (depending on experience)
Plus excellent benefits package including private healthcare, contributory pension, life assurance + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Hours Full Time Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week. 8:00am to 4:00pm, (with half an hour for lunch)
Location: Durham Hospital and Darlington Hospital
Our client has a vacancy for a Stoma Care Health Care Support Worker to work with the Stoma Care Nursing Team in Durham and Darlington Hospitals.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting under supervision in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised nursing care of the patient with a stoma or fistula.
- Developing a general understanding of stoma care core tasks and functions
- Liaising with appropriate hospital staff to facilitate the provision of high quality care to all patients.
- Observing and reporting any changes in the patients wellbeing to the Stoma Care nurse
- Replacing and replenishing stoma care stock to individual patients and wards
- Flexibility to cover at Darlington Hospital as required
- Triaging answer phone messages within scope of individual practice
- Remote admin support to Carlisle with phone calls to patients booked for planned community visits

To be considered for this Health Care Support Worker role you will have:
- Previous healthcare experience and knowledge of stoma care
- Experience of administrative duties
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
