AUDIOLOGIST - Band 5

37.5 hrs per week

The Audiology Department at the James Paget University Hospital offers a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service for both adults and children. We provide a Hearing Therapy service, balance service, support to ENT and hospital based NHSP. We are an established training site for undergraduate students and encourage continuing professional development. We also participate in National research programs. Our department offers excellent facilities and a positive working environment.

Main duties of the job

We are searching for a forward-looking and enthusiastic person to join us. You will be expected to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and, as such, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your duties will be mainly adult diagnostic and rehabilitation and support for ENT which will include some Paediatric testing. You will also be expected to contribute the training of students and junior staff. You will hold a BSc in Audiology or nationally recognised qualification in Audiology. You will be state registered or working towards registration. This post would be suitable for newly qualified Audiologists as full support will be given.

  • BSc in Audiology or equivalent

  • Member of BAA/BSA
  • Registered with the RCCP and/or the HCPC

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral)

Experience

  • Appropriate in service training in Audiology
  • Knowledge/involvement of working within an NHS audiology department

  • Experience in using Patient Management System (PN/AB)
  • Evidence of additional audiological training/CPD portfolio
