Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for:

- Safe and timely preparation and execution of the project Instrument commissioning work scope in adherence with project HSEQ safety targets, procedures, and practices.

- Ensuring all instrument commissioning is carried out in accordance with project commissioning specifications, standards, and procedures.

- Developing the project instrument commissioning strategy and approving instrument procedures.

- Ensuring instrument commissioning is carried out in accordance with project schedules and budget.

- Playing an active role in ensuring that all project HSSE goals are achieved and, where possible, exceeded.

- Processing safe completion of designated instrument commissioning activities in line with the project schedule and milestones in a consistent and timely manner.

- Assisting in maintenance of the project budget through diligence and utilization of efficient and working practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Supervising the safe completion of the project instrument pre-commissioning/commissioning work-scope.

- Supervising and supporting the project Instrument Commissioning Team.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Providing Fire & Gas input into project instrument system design during the project design phase.

- Providing instrument commissioning input to the project plans and schedules.

- Developing project instrument commissioning strategy documents.

- Reviewing/approving and supervising the design and installation of minor temporary instrument systems/supplies.

- Reviewing and approving instrument commissioning procedures - ensuring compliance with project standards, specifications, and procedures.

- Ensuring all instrument commissioning activities adhere to all applicable site/project safety procedures and practices.

- Actively participating in all company and project safety initiatives.

- Liaising with the instrument engineering office to ensure that the electrical fabrication drawings are produced in line with commissioning requirements.

- Auditing site/project instrument activities on a regular basis to ensure all compliance with project safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

- Monitoring and reporting instrument commissioning progress on a regular basis.

- Approving all instrument system/sub-system mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning sign-off certificates/milestones.

- Ensuring a safe Instrument Permit to Work and isolation system is in place and adhered to.

- Leading/attending project HAZID's/Risk Assessments.

- Providing input into audit reviews.

- Providing input into budget management and cost control.

- Providing input into the planning process as requested.

- Providing input into safety reviews/walk-rounds.

Requirements:

- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering or related subject.

- BSc (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering or related subject an advantage.

- BOSIET/OGUK Medical.

- Company mandatory training (Induction, Risk Assessment, etc).

- PTW Training.

- HAZID/HAZOP Training.
