Kin Tec has been retained to find an Operations Manager that is looking for the next career move.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Operations compliance to HSSE regulatory requirements (e.g. Risk Assessments; PTW etc).
  • To manage the operations department efficiently, effectively and to budget.
  • To manage operations personnel professionally and fairly. Maintaining a proactive and constructive relationship with the Union and actively participating on behalf of the company in the collective bargaining negotiations.
  • To promote and support competency and capability development within the shift teams both through and with the Shift Supervisors maximizing the individual and shift team capabilities. Proactively develop shift operations succession planning, moving, and recruiting staff as necessary to maintain Operations capabilities both through the short to long term.

  • The successful candidate should have: An Engineering degree. Preferably Chemical and Process Engineering.
  • Ten plus years industrial experience with at least five years as a senior Process Engineer / Operations Manager or equivalent in a petrochemical / oil refining / chemical industrial environment
  • Good IT skills
  • A good working knowledge of and experience in leading teams (preferably shift operations) and the practical development and application of operational procedures and operational processes
  • Practical experience of applying and complying to HSSE and EA Industry requirements as relevant to refinery operations.(e.g., Workplace safety, regulatory compliance, process safety systems and requirements, emissions)
  • Experience in dealing with people at all levels in an organisation (Frontline to Directors).
  • Demonstration of experience in dealing with conflicting priorities and being able to progress multiple work strands simultaneously to an appropriate level.
