SEN TA with Specialism in SEMH Needs
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Job Type: Full Time, Long Term
About the school:
Join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Brent, where diversity and a love for learning are celebrated every day. This school is known for its supportive and nurturing environment, with a strong emphasis on meeting the individual needs of every student.
The school is housed in a modern building with state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring both staff and students have access to the best resources available. Located in a lively area with excellent transport links, getting to work will be a breeze whether you drive or use public transport.
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who specializes in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In this full-time, long-term role, you’ll be working closely with students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to engage with their learning, develop social skills, and positively manage their emotions.
You’ll be an essential part of a close-knit team of educators who are committed to making a real difference in the lives of their pupils. This role is perfect for someone who’s experienced in working with children with SEMH needs and is looking to take their career to the next level. While a TA qualification is preferred, we highly value relevant experience and a genuine passion for helping children overcome their challenges and thrive.
Experience working with children with SEMH needs.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred but not essential.
• Work with individual students to provide tailored support that meets their specific SEMH needs.
• Small Group Interventions: Lead small group sessions focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and building self-esteem.
• Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
• Working at this school means becoming part of a friendly and dedicated team that genuinely cares about your professional growth. You’ll receive ongoing support from the leadership team, with regular opportunities for professional development and training.
Enjoy the satisfaction of making a real difference in children’s lives every day, in a school that values innovation, inclusivity, and a positive work-life balance. Plus, with excellent transport links and the option of onsite parking, your commute will be hassle-free, leaving you more time to focus on what really matters—your students
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification.
However, we will keep your CV and continue to help you in your search for a job within education. Teach Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Clearance.
