Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of GRIDSERVE’s network infrastructure, which is delivered through a third party managed service provider.

A confident technical leader, you’ll be working closely with network solution architects, delivery and service leads, making design decisions, optimising network performance and new site rollout, and troubleshooting any underperforming sites.

Strong vendor management skills are crucial to success in this role, which also manages a 3rd line network engineer providing on-site support for GRIDSERVE offices and infrastructure, facilitating new site fibre installation, and supporting field service engineers with network related issues in our assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vendor management of GRIDSERVE’s network MSP, and other network service and infrastructure providers to deliver a responsive, customer-focused, professional infrastructure service
  • Design and/or sign off on network topology, infrastructure selection, documentation, and delivery plans for new sites
  • Manage network performance, optimising poorly performing sites, and implementing appropriate solutions where existing infrastructure is not performant
  • Maintaining all network documentation and diagrams
  • Reporting on service status, network performance, and network delivery
  • Management of 3rd line network support engineer
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System, compliant with ISO standards.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience designing, documenting, delivering and supporting complex networks
  • Experience of successful management of MSP’s
  • Experience of successful change delivery
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
