Mando Solutions have a great opportunity for a mobile plant fitter to work for one of the countrys leading mobile plant suppliers in the minerals and aggregate sector who operatesoperates one of the most technologically advanced, environmentally friendly and newest fleets within Europe. Chepstow Plant International are looking to recruit an experienced field service engineer to help maintain its 150 front-line machine fleet across both Devon and Cornwall. You will be working on premium, leading industry equipment brands such as Volvo, Caterpillar and Komatsu whilst carrying out the repairs alongside an existing, dedicated team of engineers and welders.

The ideal candidate would have experienced and/or knowledge of the quarrying industry, with a formal engineering qualification in plant maintenance, agricultural machinery or HGV mechanics, such as NVQ level 3 / city and guilds or equivalent. The position will report directly into the regional operations manager, but will work very closely on a day-day basis with the Head of Field Service at the companys Head Office.

Job Skills / Requirements

5+ years relevant experience (post apprenticeship) in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Construction Plant Bulldozers, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Graders, Loading Shovels etc.

NVQ or equivalent in engineering, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics

Experience in maintaining heavy quarry / mining / construction equipment, LDV's and 4x4's

Knowledge and experience of working with Tier 4 and 5 engines, regen and adblue systems, Drive Lines, Hydraulics & Electrical Systems.

Experience and knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures, including use of laptops for fault finding / diagnostics

Elevated level of Health & Safety knowledge.

Computer literate with emails and tablet-based maintenance systems

Quick learner and able to work on own initiative, self-motivated

Willingness to attend internal and external training courses

Job Roles / Duties
  • Repair of heavy-duty quarrying equipment, including excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, bulldozers etc. from industry leading brands such as Volvo, Caterpillar and Komatsu to a very high standard
  • To carry out inspections and local preparation of machines, such as fitting buckets or attachments, reversing cameras, radars etc.
  • Ability to carry out major overhaul on engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulics etc
  • Diagnose and problem solve mechanical, hydraulic or electrical on machines
  • Order parts for your repair as necessary, return any unused parts in a clean condition at the time of job completion.
  • Able to work on own initiative and part of a team
  • Accurate and punctual completion of systems/paperwork.
  • Carry out all work in line with the company's core health, safety and environmental policies and safe working practices
  • Highlight to management where additional works may be required
