Income Officer required in Liverpool on a 3-month temp contract with hourly rates up to £24ph and hybrid working.

Your new role

  • Monitoring and managing caseload of rent accounts that require intervention to recover and/or prevent rent/service charge arrears.

  • Provide low level advice and guidance to customers regarding benefit claims, supporting with UC claims and making referrals/signposting to external agencies where appropriate.

  • Making decisions on cases requiring escalation to court, monitoring legal proceedings in relation to current & former tenant arrears, leasehold & service charges including preparation of court papers.

  • Contacting customers to discuss their overdue accounts via telephone or at their homes where required.

  • Responding to enquiries, requests for assistance, guidance or advice from customers in relation to welfare benefits, money management and debt.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Have experience of income management and enforcement or debt collection within a housing setting.

  • Experience of case management and analysing customer accounts with good problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral

  • Experience of working with vulnerable customers and an understanding of the challenges currently facing the housing sector

  • Good knowledge and understanding of benefits system including housing benefit/UC etc
