Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Surveyor to work on behalf of a local authority in the South West of England on an initial six-month contract.
We are seeking a surveyor to progress disposal of a number of Council owned assets, and so experience in undertaking disposals is essential. Experience of working within a local authority is desirable to ensure familiarity with process.

28 per hour PAYE.

Providing complete professional advice on aspects of estate management including identifying unused and underused land and properties and reporting on alternative uses, disposal of surplus land and buildings.
Take responsibility for managing investment properties forming part of the Council’s Investment Portfolio. Provide input into the overall portfolio level reporting process (analysing portfolio structure, market specific risk and macroeconomic risk to inform future portfolio level strategy).
To negotiate with confidence, orally and in writing, on issues such as disposals and acquisitions of properties and sites on behalf of the Council in order to strategically deliver the asset management plan.
To prioritise work to ensure that deadlines are met and that urgent and pressing matters are given priority, to secure the best outcomes for the Council.
To make recommendations on the future use of assets and rationalising assets with consideration for service delivery and legal requirements, often with frequently competing priorities.
Making recommendations to the Estates Manager and Head of Assets and Facilities Management with regard to management of investment assets with reasoned advice / considered options / identification of potential issues and problems with a range of possible solutions.
Demonstrate some experience of property matters
Experience of property matters in a Public Sector environment.
Effective working knowledge of Map Info or equivalent mapping software.
Estate Management.
Ability to travel efficiently around Torbay/South West in order to carry out duties
