Technical Manager Salary - Circa £40,000 DOE Location - In Office, Stevenage Are you ready to take on a dynamic role in a growing UK-based design & manufacturing company? With over three decades of experience delivering optical solutions across the UK but also globally for scientific applications across medical, defence, and conventional manufacturing, they're making waves in the industry becoming a recognised provider of their niche products. They're looking for a Technical Manager to join their team in Stevenage. In this role you will be collaborating closely with all departments, providing technical and quality support for production and sales. Your expertise in mechanical engineering will be crucial, along with your ability to handle technical inquiries and manage production planning. Responsibilities, but are not limited to Review customer drawings (2D and 3D) and work with sales team to put together quotations for diamond machining jobs Obtain quotes and work with suppliers to provide solutions to customers for their requirements Design machining fixtures for holding components during the diamond machining process Update and manage database of technical drawings for all parts manufactured Attend trade shows to gain knowledge of the industry and production techniques to help improve processes and productivity Attend customer meetings to discuss job specifications and how to achieve them To gain knowledge and experience of our customers products, and our production processes including laser optics and components manufacture Work with production team to ensure components are made to customer specifications and to ensure that we are able to manufacture to requirements General technical/engineering support and advice to sales and production teamsExperiences required Must be a competent user of SolidWorks 3D CAD Educated within Engineering/Manufacturing: BEng, BSc, BSE, HNC, Apprenticeship or Time Served Able to create detailed technical drawing packs for manufacturePackage 40 Hours P/W | Monday to Friday | 23 Days Holiday | Pension Scheme Key Skills - SolidWorks, CAD, 3D, 2D, Engineer, Manufacturing, Production, Fixtures, Fittings, DFM, DFMA, Component, Production Drawing Packs, Machining, Quotations
