Role Overview: They are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Drama to join their team. The successful candidate will lead the Drama department, inspiring students and fostering a love for the performing arts. This part-time role (4 days per week) offers the flexibility to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments, starting in June 2024, with an option for a September start. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging Drama curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of their students.
- Direct school productions and extracurricular drama activities, fostering student participation and talent.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama into the wider school curriculum and community.
- Mentor and support Drama teachers, encouraging continuous professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
- Proven experience in teaching Drama at the secondary school level.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students and staff.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A passion for drama and the performing arts, with a commitment to extracurricular activities.
- Ability to start in June 2024, with consideration given to candidates available from September 2024.
