Job Opportunity: Deputy Drama Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Drama Lead to join our team at Wayman Group. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for shaping the drama curriculum, mentoring students, and directing productions that showcase their talents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and deliver engaging drama lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, encompassing all aspects of drama from acting to technical theatre.
  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students, helping them reach their full potential on and off the stage.
  • Production Management: Orchestrate captivating productions, from classic plays to contemporary pieces, fostering teamwork and confidence among students.
  • Leadership: Collaborate with the Head of Drama to shape the drama department's vision and goals, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or related field, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching drama across secondary school levels, with leadership experience in a school setting (desirable).
  • Skills: Uncontainable passion for drama, contagious enthusiasm for inspiring young minds, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
